Drawing Tips

- Don't press hard. When you're drawing or sketching you should press lightly, and relax your hand. Plus if you press hard with the pencil and make a mistake you want to erase, then it will be harder to erase and you will still be able to see the area you erased.

- Make light strokes with your hand, as a sketch, so you can erase any area and it looks nice and neat.

- Start with sketching the basic shapes and lines of the picture. For example if you are drawing a human face then you should start off with a large circle, then sketch to lines coming diagonally from the sides of the circle and connect it with a small horizontal line at the bottom and you have a generic human shaped face. Once you go in with more detail, you can erase the big sketched shapes, and there you go.

- Erase lightly. Even if you pressed hard with your pencil, it works better and looks neater when you stroke lightly back and forth with your eraser.

- If you are making a three dimensional object, then you should add a shadow from the object. If you are making more than one three dimensional object in the picture then you need to decide on a certain angle that a light would be reflecting on an object and so the shadow is directed behind the object where ever the light is shining on the object.
